Review widgets put your Google reviews on your own website: a compact rating badge, a larger summary block or a full feed of reviews. The Review widgets screen is where you create widgets, choose which reviews they show and copy the embed code.
Open it from the sidebar: Reviews → Review widget. If you don't see the item, review widgets are not enabled for your account — ask your account manager.
Widgets only work on the domain you allow for them, and their content is cached and refreshed every 4 hours.
Widget types
The screen has a tab for each widget type:
| Tab | What it is | Where it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Small Badges | Compact trust marks with your rating. | Website headers and footers. |
| Medium Widgets | A larger rating summary. | Content areas and footers. |
| Comment Widgets | A feed of full reviews with a choice of layout and filters. | A testimonials section or a reviews page. |
Every type also comes in a dark version for dark backgrounds.
Each tab shows a short description with a New … button, a gallery of preview designs, and Your … — the widgets of that type you have already created, with the number configured.
Widget cards
Each of your widgets is a card showing its name, theme and key settings: Locations, Reviews shown, Period and Ratings. Card actions:
- Embed code — opens the Embed snippet dialog with the code to paste into your site.
- Edit — opens the widget editor.
- Delete — removes the widget. Sites that embed it stop showing reviews. This cannot be undone.
Widget editor
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Widget name | Internal name, for example "Homepage carousel". Required. |
| Allowed domain | The website domain the widget may be shown on, for example example.com. Required. Requests from other domains are refused. For a new widget the field is filled in for you with the most common domain of your website and your locations' websites; other domains found there appear below the field as suggestions you can click. You can always type a different domain. |
| Widget language | The language of the widget's labels, dates and review counts: Auto (visitor's browser) or a fixed language — English, Русский, Español, Français, Deutsch, Português, Italiano, Українська, Română. Auto shows the widget in the visitor's browser language when it is one of these, otherwise in your default language. Review texts are always shown as written. |
| Theme | Auto (follows the visitor's light/dark system preference), Light or Dark. |
| Locations | Choose locations to limit the widget to specific locations. With nothing selected, all locations are used. |
| Ratings (used to calculate the displayed score) | Star ratings to include. At least one is required. |
Comment widgets have extra settings:
| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Date range (days) | Show only reviews from the last N days. Leave empty for all time. |
| Reviews shown (max 50) | How many reviews the widget shows. |
| Hide reviews without text | Only show reviews that include written feedback. |
| Tags | Only show reviews with the selected tags. Leave empty for all. |
| Layout | Horizontal carousel (several cards scroll sideways) or Vertical carousel (one review at a time). |
A Live preview in the editor shows real reviews matching the current settings. Click Create widget (or Save changes) to save.
