This guide shows how to get an AI-written draft for a review reply, adjust it and send it. AI takes the review text, rating and language into account; the final wording and the decision to publish are always yours.
Before you start:
- AI must be available for your account. If there is no AI generate button in the reply editor, contact your agency.
- Each suggestion uses AI credits — see AI credits.
- The location's Google account must be connected for the reply to be published.
Steps
- Open Reviews in the sidebar and find the review — use the filters or search if needed.
- Click Reply under the review (or Edit reply if it already has one). The reply editor opens.
- Click AI generate. After a moment the draft appears in the editor.
- Check the hint above the buttons, for example "Reply language: Spanish" — the draft is written in that language.
- Edit the draft: add personal details, fix the tone, remove anything you don't want to say.
- If you don't like the result, click AI generate again for a new draft. Each new draft uses credits again.
- Click Send.
Tip: Want a consistent reply instead? Click Template (or type
/in the editor) to insert one of your reply templates. Templates don't use AI credits.
Check that it worked
The review shows Reply pending first. Replies are sent to Google about 5 minutes after you click Send, so you can still correct them. After that the status changes to Replied on Google.
Troubleshooting
- There is no AI generate button. AI is not available for your account. Contact your agency.
- "AI is temporarily unavailable — contact your agency." or "This month's AI credits for this account are used up — contact your agency." AI is paused for your account. You can still write the reply yourself or use a template.
- "Google account is disconnected". The reply is saved and published automatically once the Google account is reconnected — see Reconnect Google.
- The status shows Reply failed. Google did not accept the reply. Open the review, check the text and send it again.
