Duplicate listings on Google — two or more profiles for the same business — split your reviews, confuse customers and can hurt your ranking. The Duplicates page shows listings that look like duplicates of your locations so you can deal with them. Open Locations → Duplicates in the sidebar.
This page is an optional feature. If you do not see it in the sidebar, ask your account manager.
Layout
Each possible duplicate is shown as a card:
| Part | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Title | Possible duplicate with the number of listings involved. |
| Reason | Why the listings were matched, for example a similar name or address. |
| Match badge | How confident the match is, in percent (for example 85% match). |
| Listing panels | One panel per listing: name, address (links to Google Maps when available), phone and website (or No website). |
The page shows open cases only — new ones and ones you already reported. It respects the top-bar Filters and has a pager at the bottom. When nothing is found, the page says No duplicate listings — nice work.
Actions
Each card has two buttons:
- Request merge — confirms that the listings are duplicates and submits a merge request. The confirmation reads "Merge request submitted".
- Not a duplicate — marks the match as a false alarm, for example a different business with a similar name. The card is removed from the list.
Tip: Before confirming, open the listings on Google Maps from the address links and compare them with your location.
How to handle a duplicate
- Open each listing on the card with the address link and check that they really describe the same place.
- If one of the listings is yours and the other is a duplicate, click Request merge.
- If they are different businesses, click Not a duplicate.
